What 3165 Can Do For You

Aircraft Orders and Transactions
3165 can provide analysis and insights to accompany your negotiations or take a more hands-on role, including drafting and proof-reading, to let you concentrate on running your day-to-day business.

Commercial Strategy and Development
With first-hand industry knowledge and the relationships that go with it, 3165 can provide a variety of advisory and negotiation services that work for you. I have worked internationally all my life, from the US to China, from the Middle East to the Asean region and I can bring you business cultural advice as a constant backdrop.

Industrial reviews and Operational Audits
Nearly four decades in the industry have taught me to look at things as they are and make them as they should be. Even the best of plans encounter turbulence and a seasoned veteran can help steady the ship, or anticipate changes. It is a complex industry and the problems it generates are immensely complex too. Sometimes it takes an outside eye to simplify.

Airline Planning and Market Forecasts
RPKs, ASKs, load factors, air traffic forecasts, aircraft demand, in-service and future fleets? So much data, so little time to analyse. 3165 can help you digest more easily, bringing first-hand industry perspectives, saving you time for decision-making and investments.

Mediation and Conflict Resolution
Unfortunately not everything in the aviation world is smooth cruising and differences and misunderstandings exist. As an industry veteran I have done my fair share of dispute resolution using methods and techniques based on what I learned from William Ury, in person, at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School. Hopefully this is a service you will not need, but it is good that you know it exists.

Simon Greaves recently retired from Airbus after 36 years, where he held positions in financial systems and aero-engine procurement, before joining the Commercial Directorate in 1998.

For the next 12 years, he toured the world selling – and sometimes re-selling – Airbus aircraft (A320, A330, A380, A350) to household names such as Delta Air Lines, FedEx and jetBlue in the USA, Emirates, Qatar and Singapore Airlines, the Big 3 in China and the European flag carriers.

In 2010 he was promoted to Vice President Commercial Planning, a more central role which gave him governance of the Airbus Orderbook and responsibility for « sales-production matching », the battlefield between commercial and industrial. This unique position not only afforded day-to-day understanding of complex manufacturing systems and processes, but also gave Simon insight into every new aircraft transaction the world over.

His last position was Vice President Customer Special Projects where he managed complex commercial issues including chairing the Covid Customer Response Team and the Tiger Team to launch the A350 freighter.

Upon retirement from Airbus, Simon became President and Owner of 3165 Consulting SAS. He is based in Europe and can conduct business in English and French.
